Fuzzle 3.5: multiple selection, shortcuts and splash-screens

Wednesday, February 24, 2010 in Flash CMS News

Below is a guest post by Nataliya Komarova of Fuzzle CMS.

The new version of Fuzzle CMS is now available. With Fuzzle 3.5 the process of flash site creation can be even easier and more convenient thanks to multiple block selection and keyboard shortcuts. The latest version of Fuzzle also brings new possibilities for website designing: stylish gradient backgrounds and scalable splash-screens.

Fuzzle3.5

Let’s take a closer look at new functionality and its advantages. Multiple block selection can undoubtedly be called the hero of this release. When working in WYSIWYG mode (what you actually do using Fuzzle CMS) you sometimes need to move the group of blocks simultaneously. For example, it happens when you move several menu items or several text blocks within the page. In this case multiple block selection would significantly simplify the task. Additionally, duplication, block copying, block decoration and applying of effects are now applicable to all selected blocks. It seems, this functionality will be truly appreciated by web designers.

Shortcuts are very important for those people who can hardly imagine their work without magical combinations of Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V, Ctrl + A. Fuzzle CMS developers decided to improve their creation and make it even more comfortable to use, so these shortcuts are presented in 3.5 version with the following meanings:

  • Ctrl + C — block copying;
  • Ctrl + V — pastes the last copied element (block, or effect, or decoration);
  • Ctrl + A — selection of all blocks

To copy the effect (for example, to bounce the appearance of a certain block) a special Ctrl + E shortcut was designed.
Web sites without stylish design will never be memorable. That’s why Fuzzle CMS developers work their hands to the bone to supply you with wide possibilities in site decoration. That’s why the latest version of Fuzzle CMS enables setting a gradient background and making splash screens. Besides, everyone can buy one of three ready-made flash website templates. In fact, the number of templates will grow.

As for other changes, page load speed has been improved. It became possible because JS-files have been deleted.
To test the new features of Fuzzle 3.5 just download a distribution from the Fuzzle CMS site. Note: the demo version can be used for as long as you feel necessary!

An Insight into the Turtlebite Flash CMS Framework

Wednesday, December 2, 2009 in Flash CMS Providers

Today we continue reviewing different Flash CMS solutions and below you will find a guest post by Christian Kaegi.

Let me try to introduce the Turtlebite Flash CMS Framework. It is quite different compared to other flash cms solutions, because it does not target the so-called “no skill” user. I’ve been asked many times if it has SEO features, gadgets, ready-to-use galleries etc. The simple answer is: no. In fact it concentrates “only” in uploading/resizing pictures and editing text. It stores all data in a MySQL database and organizes everything (textfields and images) in so-called “slots”.

turtlebite-flash-cms

I didn’t want to re-invent the wheel and bring the Flash IDE to the browser. You need to have some experience in Flash. As the name “Turtlebite Flash CMS Framework” implies, it is a framework. It was built for my own needs and I use it for almost all my clients. This backend CMS framework is perfect for you if you have your flash website created any way you prefer and then want to have some parts editable for your client. You define these parts in the Turtlebite Flash CMS Framework and just connect it by using a loader class in your code. For example, if you have created a static gallery with many images, titles, description text etc. and now want your client to be able to populate this gallery, you can do so. You just have to prepare the images and textfields in the Turtlebite Flash CMS Framework, then load the data (which comes in an array) and fill your gallery.

If you need to have full SEO functionality you might want to try out the FLEB Framework. Check out this website: http://www.turbohomepage.ch. It is based on the FLEB Framework and all content is managed by the Turtlebite Flash CMS Framework.
